Courtenay Road, Splott, Cardiff
In December 2018 ground works began at Courtenay Road, Splott. The site had been vacant for several years following the demolition of the college buildings which previously occupied the land.
Being developed in collaboration with Cadwyn Housing Association who are working as agent for Cardiff Council, the finished project will provide 30 new high-quality apartments close to the city centre with good access to amenities and public transport. The block fronting Courtenay Road will consist of 3½ stories and 12 apartments, the other two blocks are 3 stories with 9 units in each.
With housing demand in Splott and Cardiff being extremely high once complete the development will help fill the need for more affordable social housing in the city. The apartments will also contribute to Cardiff Council’s plan to provide 1,000 new homes across the city by 2022.
Completion is targeted for early 2020 when the new properties will be handed over to Cardiff Council.
